Hawaii Cruise Vacations

The place “Hawaii” and term “paradise” are frequent companions -- with good reason. The Hawaiian Islands are so breathtakingly beautiful they seem to be part of another world. Not too surprisingly, Hawaii is the top destination in the world for honeymooners and anniversary couples.
Miles of beautiful beaches and exhilarating surf, verdant rainforests, active volcanoes, and lush mountains with caves and waterfalls are all to be found on the Hawaiian Islands. You’ll also find cosmopolitan cities with great shopping and interesting sites.
Things To Do
Hawaii is truly one of those places where you will never run out of things to do. Of course you have the beautiful shoreline with inviting beaches and pounding surf. You can swim, play in the surf, sail, snorkel or just lounge about. You might also take some surfing lessons, go deep sea fishing or set out for some whale watching.
The interior of the Islands is just as beautiful, with soaring mountains smothered in green and crisscrossed with exceptional trails. You can take some beautiful hikes and also mountain bike. A traditional trip is a climb to the top of Haleakala on the island of Maui to watch the sunrise and then mountain bike down.
Golf on Hawaii is first rate. Beautiful courses, exquisitely manicured and set amidst attractive surroundings is the norm. There are dozens of courses readily available to cruisers. If shopping is your bag, the port cities throughout Hawaii all offer a nice selection of options.
Finally, tours to experience the unique and interesting culture of Hawaii are readily available. You can attend a luau and learn to hula dance.
Ports of Call
Hawaiian cruises generally make stops on each of these islands: Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Kona, Hilo, and on the Big Island. On the Big Island there are often two stops at Kona and Hilo on opposite ends of the island.
Season / Trip Lengths / Departure Ports
The main season for Hawaii cruises is during the winter, with most cruise lines repositioning their Alaska cruise ships to handle Hawaii. Norwegian Cruise Lines offers trips year round to Hawaii.
Most cruises depart and return to Honolulu and last 7 nights, with longer cruises also available. Some cruises also depart from the US mainland and disembark in Honolulu, or vise versa. Sometimes you can find Hawaii included on a South Pacific cruise, usually when a ship is being repositioned to or from Alaska.
